Speaker Eater is a three-piece sludge metal band hailing from Wausau, Wisconsin.  The band was formed in the Summer of 2010 in an Apartment on Scott Street. Although Speaker Eater aims to keep their songs short-and-sweet, the barrage of energy released is always thick and massively heavy. Matthew Cihaski’s soaring guitar fuzz and David Crook’s bass rumblings blend together to create a wall of sound that can not only be heard but felt on a deeply visceral level. Thomas Seubert’s furious drumming and tasteful use of polyrhythms are the perfect compliments to their specific deluge of dissonance. Intimidating screams, deeply buried clean vocals, and the tasteful use of piano harmonies tie Speaker Eater’s creation into a uniquely complex sound. The band released their Self-Titled debut in November of 2011 and their sophomore release, Lords was released August 9th, 2012.

In July 2013 they entered The Weight Room Studios to record their 3rd release, Ships Out of Water, a full length consisting of seven tracks that were released on 180gram vinyl on April 7th, 2015 with the help of Minnesconsin Records. Speaker Eater played their last show August 1st, 2015 at the Polack Inn, in Wausau, Wisconsin and is now on hiatus.

On September 23, 2017 Speaker Eater played a one-night reunion show at Wisconsin Hardcore Fest II, in La Crosse, Wisconsin.

Speaker Eater takes deep pride in a DIY attitude, creating and bringing into existence their music, merchandise, and packaging by hand.
